Cashelshanaghan National School is situated 4 miles outside Letterkenny on the main Letterkenny to Ramelton Road. (R245)
Our school was built in 1897, operating as a one teacher school until 1996. The original school house is now where the Senior Classes are taught. In 2005, our school was extended giving us our second classroom, where the Junior Classes are taught. The old building was very sympathetically tied in with the new, creating a warm, colourful, happy environment for our pupils and staff.
Our school is involved in many activities throughout the year such as swimming, gymnastics, sports, music, learning an instrument, drama and Paired Reading Programme. Every year the pupils put on a Christmas performance and participate in an annual Sports Day. We encourage pupils to support local and national charities, usually linking them in with a fun event.
We recognise the need to develop our I.T skills throughout the school. All pupils have access to shared tablets which allows them to use these skills creatively in their day to day learning.
